Some Bikers will do anything to get back on a bike including selling things they need. Families of bikers are a unique breed as well, supporting your need for two-wheel adventure at any cost. When riding is built into your DNA it’s hard to resist the urge to feel the wind in your hair and power on the road. Freedom comes to mind with no cages to hold you back. Freedom of the road, Freedom of adventure, and Freedom of daily thoughts and stresses become your main focus. With every passing mile you are on your way and that’s exactly where you want to be! Have a great Weekend and keep the rubber on the road.
It’s May 1st and Motorcycle Awareness month is kicked off with a loud Mayday to all drivers on the road! Mayday is used to signal a life-threatening emergency primarily by mariners and aviators, but has been used by others transportation organizations as well. Keeping an extra eye out for a motorcyclist can be a life saver not just in the month of May but all year round. I am full agreement that loud pipes save lives and my Thunderheader usually does the trick!
If you live in a place that is not crowded with traffic be thankful. Living in southern California definitely has its perks and the weather allows for more riding year round. That also brings in more people and that means more traffic to deal with. So I again ask all drivers of caged vehicles to put down the cell phone and pay attention to where you are driving as your concentration may save a life!
Spring is in full effect and the Laughlin River Run is behind us! The weather will continue to warm and defrost in some parts of the country allowing for more rides and runs. There is always something different in the air when a bike rally is near. It is a feeling that is hard to explain unless you have experienced it first hand. The gas stations are full at every stop with bikers of all kinds. The roads have more Bikers in packs and for the most part everybody gets along knowing that you’re all of the same mind and journey. Of course there is always a lot of fun at these runs and a lot of cool bikes to see but for me it’s all about the ride. Being on the road with my brothers doing what we truly love.
One thing I’ve learned on this trip is that on these longer runs, choose who you go with wisely. It can make or break a trip you planned for months. I unfortunately chose someone I didn’t know very well and it ended up becoming a nightmare. Go with close buddy’s or just ride two-up with your girl and have fun together. There’s always another run to go to and next year for these bigger ones I think I’ll just stick to taking my girl! Another life lesson learned but as all Bikers do we move on and continue to push forward turning that throttle and keeping the rubber on the road.
